Winter
Snow fun for young and old.
The Lötschental is one of the most snow-sure Alpine valleys in Switzerland. The sunny Lauchernalp lies amidst an impressive mountain backdrop of 40 four-thousand-meter peaks. At an altitude of up to 3100 m above sea level, 40 kilometers of perfectly groomed pistes, a first-class freeride area, 30 kilometers of marked winter hiking trails and snowshoe trails await winter sports enthusiasts. Thanks to the wide range of difficulty levels from blue to black slopes, the ski area is ideal for families. The Cool School snow sports school offers courses at various levels and - for the very youngest guests - childcare. After a long day on the slopes, cozy inns await tired legs and hungry mouths in the villages of the valley.
Alpine insider tip.
The Lauchernalp is very popular with ski mountaineers. There are numerous opportunities for off-piste skiing towards Petersgrat or Gitzifurka. Between the villages of Wiler and Fernden there is a cross-country ski trail of around 8 kilometers, while toboggan runs in the midst of the magnificent winter landscape provide an exciting change of pace.
Dynamic pricing.
The Lauchernalp mountain railroads have a dynamic pricing system. Book your ski pass early - it's worth it.
