The remoteness of the Lötschental is the source of a multitude of myths. Wild creatures have been hunting through the valley since time immemorial - leaving their mark on tradition and customs. This is how the "Tschägättä" came into being: masked, impetuous creatures that still wreak havoc on carnival evenings every year and are firmly linked to the valley.
